YUMA, Ariz. – The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office said one of its vehicles was involved in a crash with a tractor in Yuma on Wednesday. YCSO said the crash was reported at 2:30 p.m. in the area of Highway 95 and Avenue 4E.
YCSO said the vehicles involved were a 2014 Ford 4150, marked as a YCSO Patrol Unit, and a John Deere tractor. Deputies said the drive of the tractor had slowed down in the number one eastbound lane of Highway 95 in preparation to make a left turn onto Avenue 4E.
They said the YCSO unit was traveling behind the tractor and was not able to stop in time. The driver collided with the right rear of the tractor.
The Ford F150 YCSO Patrol Unit was being operated by Deputy Gerardo Juvera, 30, from Yuma, Ariz. The John Deere Tractor was being operated by Pedro Vega Siquerios, 36, from Somerton, Ariz. The case remains under investigation.
