YUMA, Ariz. – The Arizona’s Presidential Preference Election is next week, which means voters get the chance to give their party’s candidate an idea of who they think is the best presidential nominee.
March 16th is the last day to send in your ballot for the 2016 Presidential Preference Election in Arizona.
“Yes I’m really excited for Tuesday. I’m really excited to go out and vote for the very first time,” Yuma resident Rebecca Rossiter said.
Rossiter says she’s also excited to set an example by voting in this election for her daughter.
“I’m excited and I’ve been researching a lot and listening to the different candidates. I’m very excited to cast my vote because I know it’s important this time,” said Rossiter.
For those voters who didn’t get to the post office in time, you can still turn in your ballot at any polling place on election day. You can find your polling place on Yuma County’s website.
“I already cast my vote as an early voter, so it’s already in. If you have an opinion the best way to get it out there is to vote,” Yuma resident Mary Vanburen said.
The polls in Yuma County open at 6:00 a.m. and close at 7:00 p.m Tuesday March 22nd. Election officials say you must bring an ID that matches your voter registration records and you must vote for your own party.
