Veteran loses home and all his belongings in fire

YUMA, Ariz. – Rural Metro responded to a fire at the Hidden Cove RV Park in Yuma around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon. Officials tell us that a veteran lost his home, an RV, in the fire and lost all his belongings. Rural Metro says the veteran is also an amputee and even lost his prosthetic leg in the blaze. First responders are calling 3 neighbors heroes after they say the residents ran in and saved the veteran before they arrived.

The veteran has been taken to the hospital we do not know his condition but it is not believed to be life threatening. The Red Cross is now assisting the veteran with the losses. Rural Metro says they do not believe the fire is arson or a criminal act but an accident. We will update you as more details become available.
