YUMA, Ariz. – Early Saturday morning 18-year-old Jesse Carreno and two 16-year-old boys were arrested for graffiti found on Yuma High School walls.
The three fled the campus Friday night but were later apprehended during an unrelated traffic stop the following morning. Graffiti on the side of Snider Auditorium has quickly been removed. All you can see now are slight discolorations between old and new paint. But damages have cost the school district up to $5,000.
One of the minors admitted to spraying the graffiti, while the other two were present and drove him to the location to commit the crime.
They were found in possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a hand gun. Yuma police say vandalizing a school is a felony, so the three suspects can face jail time if convicted.
School officials say if you come across any sort of graffiti across the Yuma area, to call the graffiti hotline.
