Tagging cases are falling in Yuma

Yuma, Ariz. – Tagging cases are decreasing in Yuma due to an anti graffiti strategy called the TAGS program. It was started in 2010 with the goal of quickly removing and enforcing graffiti cases. Between 2011 to 2012 there were almost 2,600 tagging cases, last year that number fell by 800 cases. They have been able to charge 125 taggers since the program began. The Yuma Police Department has set up a graffiti hotline, (928)-329-2828, that they urge anyone who sees graffiti on their property or neighborhood to call and in most cases they can get it removed within 24 hours.
