As we approach the end of flu season, it’s still not too late to get your flu shot.
Yuma Regional Medical Center Infection Preventionist Valerie Payne said, “It will continue to be flu season until the end of March.”
it will continue to be flu season until the end of march its never too late to get your flu shot
The single best way to prevent seasonal flu is to get vaccinated each year.
Payne said, “It’s never too late to get your flu shot. It would still protect you from the flu if haven’t already got the flu. It takes 2 to 3 weeks for your immunity to get built up, so get it as soon as possible.”
Good health habits like covering your mouth when you cough and washing your hands can help stop the spread of germs and prevent respiratory illnesses like the flu.
Payne said, “If you look at national trends and state reports, the rise hit a few weeks ago and it’s starting to come down now.”
Payne suggests if you feel sick to call your family doctor or the Care line. Care line is offered 24/7 and they are there to assist with any health concerns.
