Stallworth moves forward

YUMA, Ariz. – Rhett Stallworth has elevated the Yuma Catholic football program to elite status in his 9 seasons as the head coach. After 104 wins and 3 state titles, he’s stepping away; but not very far.

Stallworth is stepping away from his coaching and athletic director duties to become the school’s new principal; a spot previously held by Armando Valenzuela (who is now the new principal at San Miguel high school in Tucson).

Stallworth plans on bringing the same winning mentality he had with the Shamrock’s football program to the school as a whole: “I think it’s an opportune time to step into that position and just pick up where things have been and move forward and do the best job of elevating the school from there.”

Assistant coach Aaron Cheatwood was promoted this week from Stallworth’s coaching staff as the Shamrocks new head football coach.
