Renee Summerour is originally from Trenton, New Jersey, but grew up in San Diego, California.
She earned a degree in marketing from California State University of Long Beach before returning to Palomar College to study radio and news broadcasting. While at Palomar College she was an anchor/ reporter for North County News and Radio show Host. She won the 2013 Communicator Award of Distinction for Best On-Air Talent: Talk Show Host – for her radio show Renee’s Relationship Monday and worked with three of San Diego’s most popular radio stations, including Magic 92.5’s “Quiet Storm”.
Renee is also a production specialist off camera, honing her skills in the use of many technical software programs that help produce the overall look of newscasts, and radio. In addition, she has done voices overs, produced political talk show segments and is an experienced director.
When Renee is not in the newsroom, you can find her doing things like working out, hiking, spending time with her family, and traveling. She been to all over the U.S. , Italy, Greece, and all of the U.S. Virgin Islands. She’s is also affiliated with SDABJ, San Diego Association of Black Journalists, and is the proud recipient of a scholarship where she will be pursuing her Masters Degree in Digital Journalism.
In the future she hopes to continue anchoring, produce her own talk shows and teach.
