MCAS YUMA RESCUES BORDER PATROL AGENT

Shortly after 4pm on Sunday MCAS Yuma Search and Rescue received a call from Border Patrol requesting medevac for one of their agents. The agent fell 15 feet while up in the Sierra Pinta Mountains, 62 miles east of Yuma. The terrain was very steppe, preventing a helicopter from landing. The search and rescue team used a dual-hoist operation to safely transfer the agent to Yuma Regional Medical Center for further treatment. The entire operation took three hours. The agent injured his left arm and left leg and also a sprained ankle, his injuries were described by MCAS Yuma as being minor. He is expected to make a full recovery.
