Max Tarlton is an Emmy-nominated multimedia journalist currently reporting and producing for KYMA News 11.
Max comes to Yuma from Chicago where he worked as a news writer for WGN News. He’s also a graduate of Columbia College Chicago, with a degree in Broadcast Journalism.
As a California native who spent time growing up in Omaha, Nebraska, Max has always had a love for telling stories and following current events. His career began in 2010 as a freelance blogger for a community news website “Chicago Talks,” as well as producing web content for WCHI, a student-created and student-run news source in Chicago.
In 2013, Max participated in a journalism semester in Hollywood, where he became a personal assistant to Warner Bros. producer Hunt Lowry in Burbank, California.
Prior to graduation in December 2014, Max was seen reporting, anchoring, and weather forecasting for Columbia’s news program “Newsbeat,” as well as reporting entertainment news for “Windy City Webcast.” He also had the opportunity to intern for entertainment reporter Dean Richards at WGN Morning news before being asked to write full-time with the WGN Midday News.
Max is excited to be a part of the KYMA team. Catch him in action on “Sunrise” every morning at 6 a.m. If you have a story idea, don’t hesitate to email him at firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also like and follow Max on social media on facebook.com/MaxReports and twitter.com/MaxTarlton
