YUMA, Ariz. – On Friday MCAS Yuma underwent the Spring portion of their bi-annual Weapons and tactics instruction course demonstration, known as WTI, in Yuma. The marines would go through a simulation of situations they may encounter in a foreign country during war. Marine officials say that the marines that are WTI students are already extremely well trained, but to pass the WTI course requires being the best of the best. They say that those that do pass are recognized “across the board” for the specialties.
Marine officials say that Yuma is the premier location for this type of training as the weather is perfect for aircraft and that the community is very supportive. The marines will continue WTI training again in the Fall.
