BOMBAY BEACH, Calif. – A magnitude 4.3 earthquake hit the Salton Sea Monday. It was about 3.7 miles SSE of Bombay Beach, and 36 miles NNW of El Centro.
The USGS said the earthquake hit at 7:31 a.m. local time. There were no damages reported.
Several aftershocks hit the area following the quake, with the highest registering at a magnitude of 3.0.
