YUMA, Ariz. – A homeless man suffered leg injuries after being lit on fire, according to Yuma Police Department officials.
Officers were notified about the incident when the man walked into Maverick Bar on Fourth Avenue Tuesday at around 6:55 p.m. asking for help.
YPD officials say the 46-year-old man says he woke up to his legs on fire in the desert area north of Quartermaster Depot at about 3 a.m. The man then said he saw three Hispanic men when he woke up. He gave no other descriptions about the men.
The man was taken to Yuma Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
YPD detectives are still trying to figure out how the man caught on fire.
