YUMA, Ariz. – The Yuma Heat swimming team is hosting a three day weekend event that ways big with all 400 competitors involved from the state of Arizona. The Regional Supplemental NTS Invitational will determine who will qualify for the upcoming state competition. As far as the first day is concerned, Sarah Clifford impressed with her cutting 30 seconds in time in her mile long swim that qualified her for state. In the girls 10 and under 500 Freestyle, Emma Amon’s first place finish also got her a ticket to the state meet. Both swimmers also got gold medals for their long distance swim efforts. All Yuma Heat swimmers managed to beat their personal best times in just the first day. Regional competition continues through Sunday.
