Firefighters rescue dog stuck in fence

YUMA, Ariz. – The Yuma Fire Department helped Animal Control officers rescue a stray dog stuck in a fence. YFD said the call came in Monday at about 11:15 a.m. The stray dog was in the 2200 Block of Walnut Ave.

YFD believes the dog tried to crawl through the bars of the wrought iron fence and became stuck. The dog could not free itself and other attempts to free it were unsuccessful.

Firefighters had to use the Jaws of Life to spread the bars slightly and allow the dog to be freed.

No damage was done to the fence, and the dog was unharmed. The dog had no collar or license tags, and was left in the custody of the Animal Control Officers.
