Fire at self storage facility in Yuma

YUMA, Ariz. –  The Yuma Fire Department said 12 storage lockers in Yuma were damaged by a fire. YFD said the fire started before 7 p.m. Wednesday, at Castle Dome Self Storage, located at 1181 S. Castle Dome Ave.

Firefighters found smoke and fire coming from the eaves of several small storage lockers. They began forcing entry into the lockers to stop the spread and extinguish the fire. The fire was quickly brought under control.

In all, 12 storage lockers were affected by the fire. Fire investigators determined the fire started accidentally in one of the storage units with the cause believed to be electrical.
