Position: General Manager
NPG of Yuma El Centro is currently looking for a General Manager to be responsible for leading the efforts in providing high quality and financially viable television programming in a multi-affiliate operation. The General Manager works closely with Department Managers, News Directors and other key personnel, to ensure that station goals and objectives are met or exceeded.
Duties include management of the physical, human and financial assets of the station, in relation to achieving budgeted financial goals and growing market revenue. The General Manager is responsible for recruiting and hiring department managers, working with the News Director in recognizing and hiring key talent, as well as conducting annual performance reviews with all direct report employees. Additionally, the General Manager oversees strict adherence to FCC rules and regulations, monitoring related processes to ensure protection of station licensing.
Experience as a General Manager is required and, additionally, a Sales background is preferred. The desired candidate is expected to be a strategic thinker, disciplined executor, practiced in developing and making recommendations, exhibiting professional interpersonal, communicative and presentation skills. To be successful in this role, candidates must be detail-oriented, with the ability to remain inherently focused on the systematic completion of multiple projects. Advanced computer skills, extensive knowledge of MS Excel and Power Point, knowledge of and basic competence in a PC-based traffic system are required, with a college degree preferred. Possession of a valid driver’s license, currently insured dependable transportation, and the ability to travel frequently are additionally required.

Position: Assistant Engineer
The Engineering Department of NPG of Yuma-El Centro has an immediate opening for an Assistant Engineer.
NPG of Yuma-El Centro Assistant Engineers will work under the Chief Engineer in handling operational emergencies as needed and assist in technical and electrical projects. They will be responsible for maintaining and repairing all types of equipment (routing switchers, editing systems, broadcast IT systems transmitter, microwave links etc.) as directed by the Chief Engineer. They will be responsible for building maintenance including ordering and organizing supplies as well as controlling inventory. They will be responsible for all station vehicles including maintaining thorough and accurate records of all vehicle maintenance and submit monthly reports to corporate. They will trouble shoot and maintain control room equipment and station computer network. Assist in maintaining compliance with FCC and FAA rules.
Candidates must possess a high schools diploma and at least two years of technical electronics school or equivalent. They must have experience in electronic and mechanical repair and have good trouble shooting and problem solving skills. They must be competent in the use of electronic test equipment and hand tools. They must have a strong background in quality control and computer skills including proficiency in Pc’s LAN/WAN, IP switchers, IP network wiring and configuration, Windows related software and networks. They must also be proficient in Windows and MS Office products. The ability to work constructively under pressure and handle numerous time sensitive issues on a daily basis is imperative for success. They must be able to work nights, weekends and some holidays and be on call if needed. They must be able to lift 50 lbs, stoop, crouch, or work on ladders up to 20 feet in height and on high rooftops. They must possess a valid driver’s license

The Sales Department of KYMA-TV NBC 11 and KSWT-TV CBS 13 in Yuma, AZ and El Centro, CA has an immediate opening for an Account Executive in our Yuma office.
KYMA-KSWT Account Executives generate revenue for the stations through the sale of commercial airtime to local advertisers within KYMA-KSWT’s coverage area. Account Executives do this by developing, managing and maintaining new and pre-existing client accounts. Account Executive responsibilities include: the knowledge of current station programming and advertising rates, knowledge of television ratings, market conditions and media competition, the organization of station information into oral and written presentation forms for the client, the timely completion of internal paperwork including insertion orders, traffic instructions, sales forecasting and other reports requested by sales management and attendance at sales meetings scheduled by the General Sales Manager.
