SIMI VALLEY, Calif. – A suspected carjacker led police on a high speed chase in California on Easter Sunday.
Police began pursuing the woman in a brown truck in the Simi Valley area. The driver sped through a grassy area on the freeway as well as on the shoulder before exiting to residential streets.
LAPD officers used a pit maneuver to spin the truck out and bring it to a stop.
The woman exited the truck and slowly tip-toed toward officers, before suddenly trying to jump in the driver’s side of a police cruiser. She nearly made it before officers slammed her to the ground.
The driver was loaded onto a stretcher and into an ambulance following the pursuit end. Police say there were no injuries were reported in the initial carjacking.
