BRAWLEY, Calif. – Water is safe for use and consumption in Brawley according to city officials.
The boil water order notice that was sent out Wednesday was rescinded after a number of bacteriological samples tested negative. The notice was sent out by the city after a 24-inch water pipeline was ruptured by a contractor affecting water service in the city.
Residents were left without water for about 20 to 30 minutes and water pressure dropped below the required standard the day of the incident.
The State Water Resource Control Board, Division of Drinking Water required the notice out of caution according to the city.
All testing was done by a state approved laboratory and the data shows that water quality was not affected by the pipeline rupture.
